While still a member of Before Braille, David Jensen would demo new songs more fitting for an acoustic guitar performance. A group of these songs later formed into the project he called Art for Starters. Before Braille played its final show in early 2006, leading David to collaborate with Jason Corman @ Bumbles Bounce. (Before Braille's original rehearsal space was shared with Jason's band, local legend Jesus Chrysler, and Jason, aka Mr Fantastical had been a mentor as David 'roadied' for the band's New York showcase tour.) 

The collaboration developed into the first Art for Starters record, a double album titled Drugs Made my Favorite Bands, Drugs Ruined My Favorite People, released in 2009. Album A recorded by Bob Hoag @ Flying Blanket, Album B, the acoustic songs, with the aforementioned Corman.

Three years after its release, David Jensen was back in the studio with members of Awake & Alert (Sam Hardwig, Blake Kimball and Spencer Reed) to record the first Loyal Wife record, Faux Light, featuring Ashley Taylor (a member of the Art For Starters live band) on vocal duty for half the songs. The album was successfully crowdfunded in 2012 and recorded by Bob Hoag @ Flying Blanket.

Half a decade passed before Loyal Wife's second album Get Right was also crowdfunded and released (directly to the contributors) in 2017. Most of the songs that comprised Get Right were later released as monthly singles throughout 2018.) This batch of songs were recorded in Los Angeles with Danny Noguieras and David Jerkovich @ Ocotillo(Now "Balboa"), but as it often goes, a number of unfinished songs remain on the cutting room floor.

A public release of Get Right produced by David Jerkovich(Novi Split, Deep Dreem) and an accompanying EP, Got Right (a 'cutting room collection' produced by Jamie Woolford) is scheduled for late-2023, early-2024. 

David Jensen continues to run the Arizona-based label Sunset Alliance Records (founded 1999) and writes/record under the name Loyal Wife despite rumors of a new Before Braille album. A 20th anniversary version of The Rumor was released Sept 10, 2022, potentially contributing to the reunion rumor, but no such plans have been made. It is true that a number of lost Before Braille recordings were uncovered while reclaiming the 2002 recordings; some of these demos were teased on "Thank You," the final track from Spring Cleaning (2009), but there is nothing further to report on the newly found material.
